A Fleeting Thought...or Was God Speaking?

Have you ever been to a water park? Our family loves the water! At the end of each summer, we try to go to a local water park. The boys are tall enough to ride all of the slides. We had a blast!

I'd like to share something that happened at the water park with you. I am convinced this happens to people all the time.

While walking through the park...I had a fleeting thought. The thought of slipping and putting a hand down to break the fall crossed my mind. It was quick and subtle. I did't have on water shoes and there were many slippery spots. Typically, I would shrug this thought off and go about my day. But because this happens to me all the time and I have recognized it as God giving me a heads up...I started to pray. I prayed as I walked through the park...I even felt compelled to pray in the Spirit quietly as we walked to the next slide. I didn't know if the thought was about me or the boys so I covered us all with the blood of Jesus...and continued to pray.

The three of us finished a slide where we were in a raft. As I stepped over the barrier, I started to lose my balance. It felt like slow motion as I began to fall. I put down my left hand to catch my fall. All of my weight landed on the heel of that hand. Wow! Isn't God good to give us a heads up about this kind of thing? My sister did the same thing at my age and broke her wrist twice. What if I hadn't taken the time to pray? I didn't stop and make a scene. We can pray anywhere.

Some reading this may believe this was a demonic attack or just bad luck. I still give God the glory for revealing this to me. It is a miracle I didn't have a broken bone in my hand!!

As a kid, I would see accidents before they happen. Right before I'd knock over a cup and spill the contents, I'd have a thought about spilling that same cup. I didn't realize then it was actually God speaking to me until I became an adult. I've learned to pay attention to those fleeting thoughts and pray.

'The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.' 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

While I realize we are in a war, I can't help but smile and thank God for the miracle He did at the water park. If you have a minute, I'd love to hear about the fleeting thoughts God has planted in your mind lately. If you can't recall having this experience, I pray your eyes and ears would be open to the coincidences in your life that are actually God speaking!!

Be blessed!
